Tehachapi Cab Ride

Although it starts in a grey day in March, 1998, this is a fascinating ride from Bakersfield to Barstow over Tehachapi Pass. Eight units power the Z NBYWSP-9, BNSFÕs hottest train, with C40-8W #861 on the point. The view is straight ahead from Caliente to Mojave, but with many roving camera shots, especially around the famous loop. The conductor provides information on the line to a trainee. The video was taped by Roy Knighton, a transportation specialist, who has ridden and taped on the head end of a number of trains.
